Aesthetics is certainly something that many people think of. However, the idea that art and design have something to do with aesthetics is only correct at first glance. There are art movements that have made it their mission not to please. Political art also wants to shake things up rather than something pleasing to the eye. The same applies to design. This shouldn’t necessarily have to meet aesthetic requirements either. It sometimes turns things upside down, and stimulates thought, without looking pretty.
The path to becoming a professional
Both are subjects that require a degree from state and private universities. However, you can also learn art and design through self-study or in apprenticeships, such as media design. You can work successfully in these professions even without formal training.
